Well, it looks like PSU has finally figured out that I am no longer a paying student and they have no responsibility to provide me with free internet.

Took them long enough! Ha haaa!

It's freakishly good timing actually since I was planning on cutting off my land line once I had a cell phone... but now I have no internet at home (luckily there is always the library and I can sometimes use the net at work). I don't want to pay more bills at the moment so I'm putting off getting a new service, but we'll see how long that lasts.

Now I will have to spend my time in the evenings sewing on my costume rather than endlessly surfing realty websites! Booyah!

I've put off getting a cell phone for so long but it is the day!!

And suddenly, I am so excited. CALLER ID. *DROOLSLOBBERDROOL* That will be so extremely nice.

I'd like Valentine's Day to be over now.

People's eyes have taken on a freaky glaze of desperate yearning and it's making me nervous!

That, and I don't think I ordered enough strawberries for the week. Granted, they are disgusting this time of year and mostly farmed using ridiculous amounts of chemicals that probably gave a bunch of farmers unsexy health conditions, but still. Apparently they are terribly romantic.

It really irks me that you can't check your credit report without lowering your credit score. It doesn't seem right--shouldn't it be a positive that you're keeping an eye on things rather than a negative? I can understand lowering it when credit companies take a look, but why you? It's YOUR credit score!

Grr, annoyed. I really want to make an inquiry but I'll resist till I really need to. Grrrrrr.

Sorry for the double-posting, but I decided I might as well post this here just in case any of you have a lead:

Dude, trailer parks are cheap!

Now that's a house I can afford to buy!

But I have a funny feeling that I might regret it after the novelty wears off...

Okay, 'fess up.

WHO TOOK MY MAIL KEY?!

We seem to have a really hard time keeping track of that damn thing but this is the first time the losing of said key is almost certainly my fault. Which makes it worse, because I don't have the faintest clue of where it is.

AND there's netflix I really want to watch waiting downstairs in that cute little metal box.

Maybe I can blame it on the cat...

*EDIT* Ha, my roomie DID have the key!

And there were wonderful cards and fudge (!!!) in the mail from Jerry and Merc!

Thank you so much, you guys, they really made me smile. And took the sting away from the fact that the netflix wasn't there after all. :)

Hey everyone, the nights are getting shorter and it's actually noticeable! Yah Solstice!

I got some really great presents:

My brother put together all my family's old home videos and pictures into beautiful, well-organized DVDs so I can find and watch things easily!

Laura made me a piece of art. It has a female emperor serving a dragon tea. And it's just amazing. Best gift ever. I love it so much, I keep taking it out just to gaze at it. Mmmm.

And last but not least, a... PS2. OMG! And I got to borrow a stack of games from Laura's giant game collection!

...so much for all my creative projects. I might as well throw away my sewing machine and paints. Or maybe I can learn how to control game addiction?

Holidays in a grocery store are so super duper fun.

It goes like this: Thanksgiving OMG BUSY FOR FOUR DAYS. Throw produce on the shelves as quick as you can and order way more potatoes and celery and onions than you think you should ever be able to sell without going bad.

Then the day after Thanksgiving everyone leaves and decides to buy very little produce for the next three weeks. They go to the mall and buy presents and eat out instead.

Then, three days before Christmas: OMG BUSY CAN'T THROW THE RUSSET POTATOES UP QUICK ENOUGH.

(And since I'm twisted, I love it. Except for the fact that half my employees look like they're thinking about getting the flu.)

Christmas is interesting because people no longer buy predictably. For Thanksgiving we knew exactly what we had to have on the shelves: traditional food fixings. For Christmas, it seems, anything goes. French dips. Roasted veggies. Hot dogs. Etc.

What do y'all eat for your holiday dinner? I'm curious. My family usually does quasi-mexican...

Anyone want a holiday-themed card with cute things on it?

I have seven left and I'd hate to waste them! I'll draw something silly in it, I promise!

If so, send me your address at onionprince@gmail.com or post it here. Comments will be screened. But please be quick since I'm getting started a little, er, late.

Thanks!

Oboy oboy, it's time to make the pickled ginger batch of doom!

Making gifts for the numerous beloved coworkers who are adventurous enough to eat this stuff. Haven't figured out what to do for the rest of them. Probably buy them coffee. :P

I don't like to toot my own horn (okay, maybe I do) but I've been told my pickled ginger is the best ever.

Here's the recipe so I won't have to rummage through all my notes anymore and in case anyone wants to try it. )

If only I didn't have to slice it all... I bought two pounds of that stuff... Ugh...

Isis has graduated from jewelry to the kitchen sponge. You know, the one you wash all the dishes with. The one that's supposed to be clean. The one that hangs out in the spot where she's not supposed to go and knows very well not to do it when anyone is watching.

First she just kept hiding it behind the sofa. Now she's left it outside my bedroom door several times in the last hour.

Is this protest, a challenge, or does she simply think the sponge is a mouse and she's trying to do something nice for me?

Either way, I'd better find a better place to keep the damned sponge.

One of these days I am going to get sick and die from eating outdated free food from my grocery store that I grab excitedly and then leave to sit in my locker at room temperature all day until I go home.

Let's hope today is not that day. *pats stomach uneasily*

Look what my beautiful sister made for meh!

Yay!

Egads, did I mention that Xenosaga III rocks my socks?

Oh shoot, there I go again. Get back to John Smith, n00b.

*bangs head on desk*

I think I'm going to have to get rid of my KOS-MOS desktop image.

I keep finding myself staring at it dreamily rather than working on my research essay.

Which, granted, is about John Smith, so a little bit of boredom is to be expected.

*sigh*

What a pretty android...

So,

Doing Nanowrimo without a laptop sucks.

I am tired of my room.

I am a prisoner who is several thousands of words behind thanks to L's birthday and stuffz, and my story is failing to grab me.

And I made the mistake of putting up a word count meter on my locker at work, so if I quit now I won't be able to escape the self-condemnation.

Of course, that's why I put it up.

And I just went to look at my wordcount... for this Livejournal entry.

Hmm.......

Hard to believe it, but my lil'un is SIXTEEN.

We had a smashing time celebrating her birthday, culminating in a literal smash when Laura (accidentally) rammed the rear car door into my head when I was putting something in the trunk.

That was AWESOME. I was a fascinating individual for the rest of the evening. I think she knocked something loose...

I made her an 'Ultimate KOS-MOS Battle Outfit' for her gift and she looks hella cute in it.

And we got our hair professionally cut together at a fancy salon which was way too expensive and they didn't schedule enough time for my monster hair and I sat writhing in guilt the whole time because of all the people who had to wait while they cut my hair.

But it looks good and Laura's is adorable (she cut it short after being quite long), and that's what matters.

Dear world, I do not need to lose weight and I definitely don't need viagra!

I also really don't care about balancing my chakras.

Spam needs to DIE!

And so do fruit flies, while we're at it.

Xenosaga III has eaten my soul.

AND I HOPE IT NEVER STOPS DOING SO.

I think I'm going to hold my sister's PS2 hostage and never give it back!

OKAY!

I've done it while taking far too many classes!

I've done it while heartbroken!

I've done it while surrounded by my family!

...which may have been the most difficult one of all.

Welcome back, Nanowrimo! If I can't weather you this year, I'll be ashamed!

Now, if only I had some ideas of what to write. Ack.

GIVE ME IDEAS! >:O
